Leonard S. Abrahams died last Tuesday, August 21 at Winterset Care Center North at the age of 82. Funeral services were held Friday, August 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home with burial at the Winterset Cemetery.
The son of James and Clara Sargent Abrahams, he was born on May 17, 1897, on the family farm in Douglas Township. He was married at Winterset to Blanche Rogers on November 6, 1921, and they were the parents of one daughter, Naomi.
Mr. Abrahams was a farmer in Douglas Township his entire life. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Blanche; a daughter, Naomi Van Cleave of Madison, Wis.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
His parents, two brothers, Walter and William and a sister, Laura, preceded him in death.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
