WILL ABRAHAMS DIED SATURDAY

Life-Long Resident Here Had Been in Failing Health Past Year

William B. Abrahams, a well known Winterset citizen and a life-long resident here, died Saturday, Sept. 10, at the age of 75 years. He had been in rapidly failing health for more than a year with cancer.

Mr. Abrahams was born April 12, 1880, at Winterset. For many years he farmed near Winterset, and for nearly 30 years was an employee of the county road maintenance department, continuing in that work until illness forced his retirement.

He was a life-long member of the Baptist church.

Mr. Abrahams was married Feb. 20, 1907, in Winterset to Grace Westcot. They were parents of seven children, two of whom, Harry and James, preceded the father in death.

Surviving are his wife; five children, Clyde Abrahams of Keokuk, George Abrahams of Winterset, Mrs. Mary Evans of Tolleson, Ariz., Mrs. Laura Kobarg of Galveston, Texas, and Major Charles Abrahams of the U.S Marine Air corps, stationed at Pensacola, Fla.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Richards Runeral home, conducted by the Rev. Warren Hile, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
