A memorial service for Alda McGinnis Flood, 88, will be held Wed., March 4 at 1:30 p.m. at Foursquare Gospel Church with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. Mrs. Flood died February 24 at Bethesda Care Center.
A Winterset resident for 61 years, she was born April 22, 1903 in Adair County, the daughter of John L. and Cora (Kirlin) McGinnis. She married Granville Flood July 1923 in Adair County. She worked at Flood Cleaners in Winterset for 30 years and then owned the Arcade Hotel for eight years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, four sisters and a grandson.
Surviving are a son, Verle Dennis Flood of Moorhead, Minn.; a daughter, Velda Jean Hughes of Casper, Wyo.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Collins Funeral Home handled arrangements. The body was cremated and the cremains will be interred in the Winterset Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Historical Society.
