JOHN CUNNINGHAM, Winterset

Services for John Cunningham, 82, Winterset, who died July 13, 1989, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Saturday, July 15, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Palmer officiating. A scripture service was held on Friday at the funeral home. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Madison County on Sept. 23, 1906, he was the son of Peter J. and Marcella Monaghan Cunningham. He was a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of Madison county.

Married to Katherine Harrell on July 24, 1929 in Winterset, Mr. Cunningham was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 50-year member of Rotary International.

Survivors include his wife; a son John of Winterset; a daughter, Mary K. Conley of Des Moines; a brother, Peter Cunningham of Winterset; a sister, Dorothy Vance of LaGrange Park, Ill.; and one grandson, Mark Conley of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
