Sunday, June 25, 2000John K. McLees, 82, of Boulder died June 20. Services were June 24. Mr. McLees was born in Winterset, Iowa, on April 7, 1918. He married Elizabeth Walker Gordon, 1948.
He was a rancher, hotel owner and school bus driver for Boulder Valley schools. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Boulder.
Survivors include his wife; daughter Jan of Aurora; son Jim of Westminster; sister Madene Comp of Fort Collins.

John K. McLees, 82, of Boulder, Colo., died June 20, 2000. Memorial services were held Saturday, June 24, at the First Presbyterian Church in Boulder. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 24, at Winterset Cemetery.
John McLees was born April 7, 1918, in Winterset to Ralph and Mabyl (McKenzie) McLees. He married Elizabeth W. Gordon on Aug. 31, 1948, in Winterset. He farmed near Winterset before moving to Boulder in 1961. In Boulder, John owned a small motel, drove a school bus for the Boulder Valley School District and worked in real estate. He was an active member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset and the First Presbyterian Church in Boulder.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jan McLees of Aurora, Colo.; a son, Jim McLees of Westminster, Colo.; and a sister, Madene Comp of Fort Collins, Colo.
