MRS. MABYL MCLEES Dies in Colorado

Mrs. Mabyl M. McLees, a resident of Madison county most of her life, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1970, at Poudre Valley Memorial hospital in Ft. Collins, Colo. She was 79 years of age.

Mrs. McLees was the former Mabyl M. McKenzie, daughter of John and Anna McKenzie, and was born at Lacona Aug. 15, 1891. She moved with her parents to Winterset in 1908, and she completed her high school education in 1909.

She was married to Ralph McLees on Oc. 15, 1913. They made their home on the family farm four miles southwest of Winterset for 42 years. This farm had been owned by the McLees family for 97 years.

Mr. McLees died in 1955. For the last eight years, she had made her home in Colorado.

Mrs. McLees was a life-long member of the United Presbyterian church, in Winterset and in Colorado. She was active in the work of the church, serving as pianist and director of the primary Sunday school department. She was also active in local school and in Farm Bureau affairs.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Madene M. Comp of Ft. Collins, Colo.; two sons, John K. McLees of Boulder, Colo., and Dr. William A. McLees of Indianapolis, Ind.; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. John Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
