Bud Allgeyer Dies At 63

Charles "Bud" Allgeyer of Winterset died Thursday, Jan. 1, at his home at the age of 63. He was a lifetime resident of Winterset.

Mr. Allgeyer was born on Jan. 29, 1917, in Winterset, the son of Charles Otis and Henrietta Louise Newerf Allgeyer. On June 14, 1945, he was married to Dorothy Jane Barnes (Barrus) in Troy, Kan.

He owned and operated Allgeyer Grocery in Winterset for 20 years and worked for Farm Service for 15 years. At the time of his death, Mr. Allgeyer was employed as a salesman for Reed Motors.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Frances Thompson of Winterset, a sister Frances Allgeyer of Winterset and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services were held at Collins Funeral Home at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, with Rev. Phill Hall officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
