MRS. CALLA DOAK DIES AT 92 YEARS

Winterset Resident Most of Life Was Long Active in Women's Groups

Mrs. Calla Doak, a prominent resident of this community for most of her life, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, at a Winterset nursing home. She was 92 years of age.

Mrs. Doak was the widow of Harry Doak, a widely known Winterset implement dealer, whose death occurred many years ago. During her active years she was prominent in women's affairs in this community. She was a 50-year member of the P.E.O., and honorary member of the Current Topic Club and a past matron of Eastern Star. She was active in the Parent-Teacher associations of the local schools, having served as president of the high school P. T. A. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.

A native of Adair county where she was born Oct. 18, 1873, she was a daughter of Robert and Frances Brown Farquhar.

Nearest surviving relatives are a daughter, Mrs. Frances Myers of Silver Springs, Md., and one grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Wilson Funeral home conducted by the Rev. W. A. Samp of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
