Howard DeBok Services Held

Howard DeBok, a longtime resident and farmer in Madison County, died at his home in Winterset last Thursday, March 21. He was 65 years of age.

Mr. DeBok was born in Marion County on March 17, 1909, the son of John and Maggie Postma DeBok. He came to Madison County at the age of two years. On January 26, 1940, he was married to Kathryn Brandt at Winterset.

Mr. DeBok retired from farming in 1973. He was affiliated with the Patterson Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; and by two daughters, Sharon of Des Moines and Diane of Winterset. Also surviving are three sisters; Mrs. Elsie Crise of Hawthorne, Nevada; Mrs. Edith Young of Sacramento, California; and Mrs. Ruby Briggs, of Durham, California.

Funeral services were conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. W. Eldon Ringle presiding. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
