ANDREW MATTHEW HART

Andrew M. Hart was born in Ohio, son of George and Sarah Kenworthy Hart, on April 20, 1834, and passed away at his home June 17, 1910 at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 1 day.

Mr. Hart came to Iowa with his parents when a boy and settled in the neighborhood where he died. He was married May 21, 1865 to Caroline Welty. To this union was born two boys and five girls, of these six remain with the mother to mourn the loss of a loving father and devoted husband.

He served three years during the rebellion in Co. I, 4th Iowa Cavalry. For more than 41 years Mr. Hart had been a faithful soldier under the standard of Jesus Christ.

Death of A. M. Hart

A. M. Hart, one of the pioneer citizens of Webster township, died suddenly at his home last Friday, June 17th. Mr. Hart had not been well for some time but was able to be up and around. On the morning of his death he arose and dressed himself and then again laid down on the bed, dying in a few minutes. He was 76 years of age and leaves a wife and six children, all grown. A. M. Hart was one of the leading citizens of Webster township, and a man whom everybody held in the highest esteem and respect. The funeral services were held in the Oak Grove church Sunday, and the remains were interred in the neighborhood cemetery.

Burial was made at the Pleasant View Cemetery.
