Hubert DeBok, Prole

Hubert DeBok, 71, of Prole, died of a heart ailment March 7, 1995 at his home. Funeral services were March 10 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Don Frank officiated the ceremony. Burial was at the Montpelier Cemetery in Patterson.

He was born in Winterset on March 18, 1923 to William Henry and Mable (Gentry) DeBok. He married Denzel Schermerhorn on Feb. 24, 1945 in Winterset. He was a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of the county. He was a member of the Winterset Saddle Club and the Norwalk-Prole Saddle Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving relatives include his wife; one son, Hubert DeBok, Jr. of Patterson; four daughters, Patricia Ann Gurney of Wheaton, Ill., Vicky Jo Morgan of Indianola, Christy Lynn Myers of Indianola, and Penny Sue Cowman of Patterson; one brother, Herbert DeBok of Des Moines; three sisters Leota Lull of Patterson, Leona Lyons of Booneville, and Mayola Wetzel of Patterson; and five grandchildren.
