MRS. BERTHA KRELL Died Here Monday

Mrs. Bertha Krell, a life-long resident of Madison county and member of a formerly well-known Winterset family, died in a nursing home here Monday, April 22, 1957. She was 89 years of age.

Mrs. Krell was the former Bertha Hart, daughter of A.M. and Caroline (Welty) Hart, and was born in Madison County on May 25, 1867. As a young woman she taught schol here and later married D. W. Krell who served for many years as a mail carrier at Winterset.

She was the mother of four children but only one son, Stanley Krell of Albuquerque, N. Mex. survives. She also leaves two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Krell of Humboldt and Mrs. D. A. Brock of St. Joseph, Mo.

Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 3 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home conducted by the Rev. Warren Hile, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
