Beth Sankey, Winterset

Beth Madge Sankey, 83, of Winterset died of a stroke at Winterset Care Center North.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 18, at the First Baptist Church in Winterset with Pastor John Shaull officiating. Burial was at Winterset cemetery.

Beth Sankey was born Nov. 15, 1915, to Mack Vinton and Nola Madge (Huss) Hildebrand of Winterset. She married Lloyd Sankey on June 6, 1936, in Winterset. A homemaker, Beth was a member of the Winterset Art Center, the Winterset Garden Club, IOOF Rebekah Lodge, Winterset Antique Club, the Winterset First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Madison County Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and one grandson.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Lowell Sankey (wife Sharon) of Winterset; two daughters, Peggy Denly (husband Gene) of Knoxville, Ill., and Ricki Lowden (husband Larry) of Winterset; one brother, Norman Hildebrand of Des Moines; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Winterset Art Center, Madison County Historical Society, Middle River Hospice or the First Baptist Church in Winterset.
