Charlotte Marie bond, 66, of DeSoto, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Panther Creek Cemetery in rural Adel.

Charlotte Lenze Bond was born Dec. 26, 1936 at the family farm near Redfield, the daughter of Charles and Coral Coffin Lenze. She graduated from Earlham High School in 1954. She worked for several years as a semi-truck driver traveling coast to coast. She was also a homemaker and loved to tend her garden. She was good at sewing and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her father, a son, Billy, a brother, Curtis and a grandson, Dustin Carey.

She is survived by her mother, Coral Lenze of Adel; two sons, Paul Bond of Oskaloosa and Charles Bond of Earlham; one daughter, Nancy Bond of Earlham; two brothers, Melvin Lenze of Adel and Billy Lenze of Earlham; one sister, Connie Crowl of Redfield; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
