Dorothy Mary Guye, 96, of Winterset died April 28, 2004, at Winterset Care Center South.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 30, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Jim Howland officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Dorothy Guye was born Nov. 17, 1907, in Madison County to Leander Calvin and Elizabeth (McMichael) Bennett. On Dec. 24, 1924, she married Clarence Bricker. Following Clarence's death, she later married Elbridge V. Guye on Feb. 15, 1932, in Marysville, Mo. A homemaker and farmwife, Dorothy lived in Madison County her entire life except for two years spent in Los Angeles, Calif. She was a life member of the Madison County Historical Society and a member of the Pythian Lodge 105, Madison County Democrat Women's Club and First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Bricker and Elbridge V. Guye.
She is survived by a sister, Elsie M. Miller of Polk City; two great-nieces, Diane Crook and Lisa Sheridan; and a great-nephew, Jeffery Pritchard.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Winterset First United Presbyterian Church, Pythian Lodge 105 or Middle River Hospice.
