Earl Rhoads, a lifetime Madison county resident, died Saturday, Nov. 28, at Iowa Methodist Medical center in Des Moines. He was 86 years old.
Born in Madison county on April 8, 1895, he was the son of Samuel and Eliza Read Rhoads.
In 1923 he married Bessie Parkins in Polk county. Mrs. Rhoads died in 1967.
Mr. Rhoads was a farmer and livestock buyer, retiring in 1970. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, three brothers and three sisters. Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Collins Funeral Home, Rev. Kenneth Helmers officiating.
Burial was at Worthington Cemetery.
