Services for Lester Gene Rhoads, 57, a Winterset native who died Oct. 31 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3 at the First Christian Church in Winterset, with the Rev. Wayne Green officiating.
Burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery with military graveside services by the American Legion.
Mr. Rhoads was born March 24, 1925, the son of Ross and Anna Jane Hartfield Rhoads.
He married the former Letty Jane Gaston Aug. 6, 1945 in Chehalis, Wash. He was a Navy veteran of Word War II and spent most of his life in farming. His wife survives along with three sons, Bill, Bob and Jim, all of Winterset, and seven grandchildren.
