Richard Thomas Ryner, 46, of Huxley, died of cancer April 25, 1996 at his home. Funeral services were April 29 at the Trinity Methodist Church in Huxley. Graveside services were at the North McDonald Cemetery in rural Madison County.
He was born in Winterset June 2, 1949 to William Arthur and Catherine Kelly Ryner.
He married Claudia Kay Onnen in Cherokee on June 1, 1974. He was a graduate of Winterset High School and had received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Industrial technology from the University of Northern Iowa. He was employed by Sauer Sundstrand of Ames until January 1996. He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineering; the Society of Technical Commicators and the Mac PI Computer User Group. He was also a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Huxley and served as Sunday School teacher in the past and served on several boards and committees.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving relatives include his wife; two daughters, Kelly Jo Ryner and Corie Deanne Ryner; and two brothers, Larry Ryner of Kansas City and Dan Ryner and wife Lori of Winterset.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Homeward Hospice of Story County and Trinity Methodist Church in Huxley.
