Fred H. Vierling, Winterset

Fred H. Vierling, 89, of Winterset, died May 5, 2000, at Integrated Health Services in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 9, at the First Baptist Church in Winterset with Pastor John Shaull officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Fred Vierling was born April 2, 1911, in Scott Township, Madison County, to Ernest T. and Maude H. (Campbell) Vierling. His marriage to Helen Pace took place Feb. 23, 1940, in Osceola. Following his retirement from farming in 1974, he was employed as a bus driver for the Madison County Elderly Services. Fred was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winterset, Evening Star Masonic Lodge 43 of Winterset (50-year member) and Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

He is survived by a daughter, Karen Miller of Winterset; a son, Wayne Vierling (wife Jody) of Winterset; three brothers, Dr. C. C. Vierling (wife Polly) of Midwest City, Okla., and Jack T. Vierling and Gene C. Vierling, both of Winterset; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four nieces; and three nephews.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Baptist Church.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset.
