Mrs. Mary Wheeler of Winterset Dies

Madison County Resident Past Twenty Years Died Saturday

Mrs. Mary E. Wheeler, a resident of Madison county the past 20 years, died Saturday, Dec. 24, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 75 years of age.

Mrs. Wheeler was a native of Canton, Ill., where she was born March 9, 1880. She was the former Mary Elsie Windsor, daughter of Thomas and Mary Windsor.

On Jan. 25, 1896, she was married at Farmington, Ill., to Harry Witherell. His death occurred in 1931.

She was married to Dick Wheeler of Winterset on June 29, 1948. Mr. Wheeler died Feb. 25, 1950.

Three daughters and a son preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Glasscock of Stuart and Mrs. Nellie Horn of Winterset; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Windsor of Peoria, Ill.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Warren Hile, pastor of the Winterset Christian church. Burial was made at Orient.
