LORRAINE JAMISON, Winterset

Lorraine Jamison, 93, of Winterset, died of a respiratory ailment July 4, 1997 at her residence in Winterset Care Center South. Funeral services were held July 8 at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset with the Rev. David Bauer officiating. Burial followed at the Union Chapel Cemetery in Madison County.

She was born in Madison County on June 8, 1904 to John Wesley and Mary Viola Hircock. She married Harlan Powell in Madison County in 1928 and later, on November 15, 1939, she married Ross Jamison in Nashua. She was a 1922 graduate of Winterset High School and a former Elder in the Presbyterian Church. She was also a homemaker and lifetime resident of Madison County. She was a member of Farm Bureau, Republican Women, and the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one brother and five sisters.

Surviving relatives include one daughter, Viola M. Williams and husband Ralph of Winterset; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be directed to the Middle River Hospice.
