Veteran Physician Called By Death

Dr. Alexander Ramsey Had Practiced in County for 49 Years

Dr. Alexander Ramsey, a practicing physician in Madison county for the past 49 years, died at his home west of Winterset April 26.

Dr. Ramsey was born in Decatur county January 24, 1857. He was the son of James and Margaret Ramsey. He attended school in Decatur county and graduated from the Keokuk Medical college on March 2, 1886. Following graduation he came to (a line or two is missing) death.

He was married on April 2, 1889 to Donna Belle Ulery. They were the parents of four children. At his death he leaves his wife, the three sons, Fred Ramsey of Council Bluffs, Worth and Lyle Ramsey of Winterset, a daughter Mrs. Bernice Jickling of Winterset and a brother, W. A. Ramsey of Mt. Vernon, South Dakota.

Dr. Ramsey was a member of the Masonic order for more than 50 years.

Funeral services were held from his home Sunday in charge of the Rev. A. R. Weed.

Burial was made in the Roberts cemetery. Pall bearers were Ralph Bush, Alva Phillips, George Sawyer, Raymond Gillespie, Elmer Orris, and George Shaw.
