Death Miss Lillian Roberts

Miss Lillian Roberts died at her home in the Webster neighborhood last Thursday, March 10th, after an extended illness. Miss Roberts who was 50 years of age, had been in poor health for several years and had been at the hospital in Iowa City, and in Des Moines, for treatment, at different times.

The deceased was born in Adair county, and made her home there, until about twenty years ago, when her family moved to a farm in the west part of Madison county. She resided with her mother, Mrs. Maggie Roberts and a brother Ray. In addition to these she leaves two other brothers, Elmer and Alvie, also of this county.

The Rev. A. R. Weed conducted her funeral services at the Webster church, Saturday afternoon, at two o'clock, and burial was in the Webster cemetery. The Reverend Mr. Rowe, pastor of the Hebron church assisted with the services.

FUNERAL SERVICES LILLIAN ROBERTS

Miss Lillian Roberts, 50, died Thursday, March 10, at her home in Webster township after an illness of several years duration. Services were held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock at the Webster church, the Rev. A. E. Weed preaching the sermon, with the Rev. C. M. Rowe assisting. Burial was in the Roberts cemetery.

Miss Roberts was the daughter of Arthur and Maggie Roberts and was born in Adair county March 17, 1881, living in Adair county until she was about eighteen years old.

She was converted at a camp meeting in the Davis Grove now a part of Dr. Ramsey’s farm and had been active in the work of her church. Much of her time was spent away from home engaged in practical nursing. She discontinued this work a number of years ago when a brother’s wife died taking her two nieces to her home.
