James Bell, Crawford twp.; farmer, Sec. 26; P.O. Patterson; was born in Hancock county, Ohio, February 6, 1839; came to this county in 1850, and to where he now lives in 1852; he married Miss Elizabeth Cason February 13, 1860, a native of Montgomery county, Indiana; have three sons and four daughters: Laura J., James L., Leonard, Lavina B., Luella, Lorenzo J., and Lois E.; Mr. Bell was in Co. K, Tenth Iowa Infantry; enlisted December 16, 1861, and served three years; owns 220 acres of land.
