Rock Rapids, Iowa - Faith Jacobson, age 83, of Rock Rapids, died Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, January 31, at Jurrens Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. continue to the Riverview Cemetery of Rock Rapids for committal service.

Faith Ione Jacobson was born March 11, 1931 at Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Ted and Rose (Timmerman) Van Hove. She was raised in Rock Rapids and attended Rock Rapids High School. She was united in marriage to Don Jacobson on April 17, 1950 in Pipestone, Minnesota. To this union one daughter was born, Paula. Throughout the years Faith and Don owned and operated ceramic and antique shops in California and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, known as “Cottage Oak”. They enjoyed camping and motorcycling together as well as attending auctions and antique shows.

After retirement they wintered in Arizona, where they participated in antique shows. Their family moved back to Rock Rapids in 1997. Faith and Don were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. On January 23, 2012, Faith’s husband of 61 years died.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula Jacobson of Rock Rapids, Iowa; one brother, Clifford Van Hove of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Rose Van Hove; husband, Don Jacobson; brother, Edward Van Hove; and sisters, Phyllis Itzon and Irene Morytko.
