Mary Felicitas (Lens) Winther – April 6, 1911 – April 29, 2011

MARY WINTHER, 100 PAYNESVILLE

Mary Winther, 100, of Paynesville died on Friday, April 29, at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville Minnesota.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 28, at 2 p.m., at the Paynesville Area Center.

Mary (Lens) Winther was born on April 6, 1911, to Charles L and Johanna M. (Kerkvliet) Lens in Lester, Iowa.

She received her schooling in Lester, Iowa, Tyler, Minnesota, and Green Valley, Minnesota. She graduated from St. Gabriel’s High School in Fulda, Minnesota, in 1929. She then went on to attend St. Cloud Business College and received her dental assistant certification at the University of Minnesota Continuation Center.

Mary moved to Paynesville in 1931, when she began working at the Pilon Hospital. Mary worked in the medical profession for some 40 years, working for Dr. Pilon and Dr. Sandven at the Pilon Hospital and for Dr. Conrad P. Winther at his dentistry practice.

Mary married Conrad Winther on June 27, 1957. They shares 26 years of marriage.
Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Con Winther; her parents; and all of her siblings.

Memorials are preferred to Camp Courage.
