Robert Ahrendt, 75, of Inwood died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Fellowship Village, Inwood.

Services were Monday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Inwood, with interment in Hills of Rest Cemetery, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Mr. Ahrent was born Dec. 17, 1928, near Rock Valley, the son of George and Cora (Rentschler) Ahrent. The family moved north of Inwood in 1944.

In August 1952, he married Gertrude Dykstra. He farmed near Inwood, Hudson, S.D., and Hills, Minn., before moving to Sioux Falls and working at Sioux Falls Stockyards, All American Transport and Stone Container before retiring in 1992. He moved to Fellowship Village Dec. 7, 2001.

Survivors include one son Paul; one daughter, Nancy Hoyme of Pierre, S.D.; three grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; three brothers, Vernon of Sacramento, Calif., and Kenneth and George Jr., both of Inwood, and one sister, Ruth Kruse of Hills, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and twin grandsons, Jonathon and Andrew Hoyme.
