Obituary:

Inwood, Iowa - Eunice Lee, age 99, formerly of Inwood, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Bethany Home in Brandon, South Dakota. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Rev. John Wolf officiating. Burial will follow at the Richland Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home in Inwood, Iowa. The family prefers memorials be directed to the Bethlehem Lutheran Courtyard Fund. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.porterfuneralhomes.com.

Eunice was born December 14, 1913 to Iver and Bertha (Mathison) Schiager in Canton, South Dakota. Eunice received her two year teaching certificate in 1934 from Augustana College and taught at Sisseton for a year and then at Lennox. On March 8, 1936 she married Milo Lee at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Together they farmed and raised a family near Inwood, Iowa.

At the age of 49, Eunice returned to college and ultimately received her Bachelor’s degree from Augustana College and became the head librarian at the West Lyon Community School for 18 years until her retirement in 1978. Eunice was also heavily involved in various committees, church activities, and organizations.

Eunice is survived by her daughter, Sandra and her husband Robert Aamlid of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter-in-law Joyce Lee of Inwood, IA; son, Clark and his wife Carol Lee of Hanover, MN; 9 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milo; infant daughter, Sharon; son, Paul; brother, Paul Schiager; and sister, Gerda Stone.
