BETTY FORD, 78

Betty J. Ford, 78, of Brandon, Florida, died on January 2, 2013.

She was born in Rock Rapids, Iowa, on January 27, 1934. Her parents were Henry and Elizabeth Dykers. After graduation from Rock Rapids high school, she did secretarial work. Later, while working in Seattle, she met Jim Ford, who was on an engineering field assignment there.

On February 6, 1960, she married Jim in Rock Rapids, and they lived in New Jersey, then Florida, and Virginia. They retired to Florida in 1997.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Suzanne, Karen (David) Mimbs, Nancy; grandson, Corey Mimbs; sister, Jeanette Appel.
