Jeanette "Jackie" Friedrichs, 82, of Sioux Falls, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 23, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, December 29, 2012 at St. Lambert Catholic Church, Sioux Falls. Visitation begins at 5:00 PM Friday, December 28 at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and a Liturgical Wake Service and Rosary begins at 7:00 PM.

Jeanette Marie “Jackie” Hendriks, daughter of John and Helen (Vanleuvean) Hendriks, was born September 2, 1930 in Rock Valley, Iowa. She grew up in Alvord, Iowa, and graduated from Alvord High School in 1947.

Jackie was united in marriage with Kenneth S. Friedrichs on September 28, 1947 in Alvord, Iowa. The couple made their home in Rock Rapids, Iowa before moving to Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1955. Jackie worked on and off at Manchester Biscuit Company until the family moved to Harrisburg, South Dakota in 1967. Jackie and Kenneth owned and operated Friedrichs Café in Harrisburg until selling it in 1976.

They moved to Brandon, South Dakota in 1980. Both Jackie and Kenneth also worked for Charles Kearns during this time. Kenneth preceded Jackie in death on April 18, 1989 and she returned to Sioux Falls in 1990.

Jackie was a member of St. Lambert Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, working on jigsaw puzzles and crocheting for her daughters.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters, Julie Dresselhuis and her husband, Gerrit, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Sharon Husman and her husband, Roger, Madison, South Dakota, Denise Varns and her husband, James, Goodyear, Arizona; eight grandchildren, Lynette Hildring and her husband, David, Neil Dresselhuis and his wife, Delana, Michael Husman, Jackie Voeltz and her husband, Todd, Jason Johanning, Jonathan Varns and his wife, Lindsay, Thomas Varns, Matthew Husman and his wife, Stephanie; five great-grandchildren; four siblings, Patricia Friedrichs, Mitchell, South Dakota, Klaas Hendriks and his wife, Nila, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, John Hendriks, of Ohio, Clyde Hendriks and his wife, Grace, Polk City, Iowa; a son-in-law, Roger Johanning, Round Lake, Minnesota; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Kenneth, Jackie was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Johanning; her parents; and two sisters, Fronie McKnelly and Jennie Stoltenberg.
