Otto Dengler – July 27, 1901 – May 13, 1989

Funeral services for Otto Dengler, 87, of Rock Rapids will begin at 10 am Tuesday in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids.
He died Saturday, May 13, 1989 at the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids.

Otto was born July 27, 1901 in Lyon County. He grew up in this area and attended schools here. On December 7, 1922 he was married to Laura Berg. Following their marriage they farmed in this area until retiring into Rock Rapids in 1958.

After she died on May 28, 1965, Otto continued to make his home in Rock Rapids. On December 20, 1968 he married Gunvor Voldseth at Sioux Falls, SD.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Mildred) Haviland of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Clifford (Martha) Phipps of Bloomington, MN; and four sons, Alvin of Edgerton, MN; Elmer of George; Alferd of Park Rapids, MN; and Loren of Rock Rapids; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Adolph (Viola) Berg of Rock Rapids and Mrs Ole (Minnie) Steen of Steen, MN.
