Lottie Gilman Porter

Lottie Gilman Porter, daughter of J. P. Gilman, pioneer resident of this city, died at her home in Los Angeles, Saturday evening, March 1, 1924. The remains of Mrs. Porter arrived in Rock Rapids this morning. Funeral services will be held in the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, at 2:30 P.M.

Lottie Gilman, a twin daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Gilman, was born in Rock Rapids, November 20, 1886. She attended school in Rock Rapids Public schools and graduated with the class of 1906.

In 1911 she married Roy B. Porter, at Omaha, Nebraska, and shortly thereafter left with him for Los Angeles, where they made their home.

Mrs. Porter was socially active. She was a member of the Methodist church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Rose Standish chapter, and the Auxiliary of the Spanish War Veterans.

She is survived by her husband, Roy B. Porter, her father, J. P. Gilman, Mrs. Lettie Dopp, of Chicago, and by Mrs. Rena Dack, and Mrs. Clarence Miller, of Laurel, Montana, sisters, and E. T. Gilman, of this city, a brother.
