Funeral services of Milton D. Ladd, one of the elder settlers of Cleveland Township, were conducted from the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Sinclair, on Monday afternoon of this week. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery.

Milton D. Ladd was born at Duansburg, N. Y., on February 25, 1840, and died here at the home of his daughter, on February 29, 1924, being at the time of his death, 84 years, and four days of age.

On December 11, 1867, Mr. Ladd was married to Juliette Ruff. To this union was born four children, two of whom survive. They are Mrs. John Sinclair, of Cleveland Township, and Lauren Ladd, of Hardwick.

In the year 1882 Mr. and Mrs. ladd moved to Emerson, Iowa, where they made their home for two years, coming to Lyon County in 1884, settling on a farm seven miles from this city. After the death of his wife two years ago, Mr. Ladd moved to this city, and later returned to the home of his daughter, where he spent his last days.

Rev. L. A. Spooner, of the Congregational Church preached the funeral services. Music was furnished by Mrs. Thos. Abraham and Mrs. George Peters..
