(June 7, 1960 - December 3, 2012)

Little Rock, Iowa - Steve Rosenboom, age 52, of Little Rock, died December 3, 2012, the result of a motor vehicle accident near Emmetsburg, Iowa.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, Iowa, with Rev. David Vander Laan, officiating. Burial will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pleasant View Cemetery at Little Rock, Iowa. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock.

Steven Dean Rosenboom was born on June 7, 1960, at Sibley, Iowa the son of Marvin and Clarice (Block) Rosenboom. Steve grew up on the family farm south of Little Rock, Iowa. He attended Little Rock Community School, graduating in 1978. Steve continued his education at Hawkeye Tech, graduating with an airplane mechanic diploma. As a young man he worked in Norman, OK as an airplane mechanic. Steve moved back to Little Rock to the Rosenboom family farm after his parents died in 1984 and 1985.

Steve was united in marriage to Carol Grotjohn on September 30, 1989 at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock. Steve and Carol made their home on the family farm and later moved to the Block Century Family farm south of Little Rock in 2000. Steve worked construction for some time and drove truck for Demco along with his farming operation. Steve enjoyed farming, driving truck, collecting pot belly stoves, golfing and making adirondack chairs. Steve was a fun loving man with a kind heart and deep love for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Little Rock; their children, Kathryn Rosenboom of Cedar Rapids and Judd Rosenboom of Little Rock; sisters, Colleen and Ken Mouw of Elk Point, South Dakota; Joyce and Ken Altena of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Melanie and John Van De Stroet of Fairview, South Dakota; mother-in-law, Lila Grotjohn of Rock Rapids and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and maternal grandparents are George and Mary Block and paternal grandparents are Elmer and Lena Rosenboom; father-in-law, Dale Grotjohn.
