Obituary:

Alvord, Iowa - Roy Weber, 82, of Alvord, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Sanford Medical Center, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral Service will be 10:30 am Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Alvord. Burial at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Alvord. Father Doug Klein officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 6 pm and Prayer Service 8 pm Friday at the church.

Roy Virgil Weber was born December 7, 1925 at Madison, South Dakota, son of Aaron and Mary (Bagley) Weber. After graduating high school, Roy served in the US Navy during World War II 1944-46.

Roy married Joye Petree April 20, 1948 at St. Josephs Cathedral in Sioux Falls, SD. Together they lived in the Sioux Falls and Hartford area for 40 years and lived in Alvord for the last 17 years. Roy was in the farming and trucking industry for over 60 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, rock polishing, playing cards and especially spending time with family. He was the authority and mentor for his family with many life lessons.

Roy was survived by his wife, Joye; three sons, Larry (Nancy) of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Terry (Linda), and Tim (Kathy) all of Brandon, SD; daughter, Karla Schnee of Katy, Texas; sister, Goldie Bierle of Milton-Freewater, Oregon; two brothers, Duane (Rosie) Weber of Bristol, OK, John (Betty) Weber of Indianapolis, IN; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Mary; brothers Jay and Lloyd Weber; and step-father, Ike Loewen.
