Funeral services were held at the First Reformed Church in Doon April 16 for Mrs. Walter Niemeyer, 70, of Doon, who died at the Valley Manor in Rock Valley April 12.

The former Hendreka Van Grootheest was born in The Netherlands and was married to Walter Niemeyer in 1923. The couple farmed in the Doon area for many years prior to retirement.

Survivors include three sons, two daughters, four brothers, four sisters, 30 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
