Bert Slob, 93, of Waterloo died Sunday, April 25, 1999, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services were Thursday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, Sioux Falls, S.D., with interment in Richland Cemetery, Inwood.

Mr. Slob was born July 14, 1905, in Doon, the son of Peter and Ida (Ruisch) Slob. On Aug. 30, 1929, he married Adella DeVaul in Worthington, Minn. He was employed at John Morrell & Co., in Sioux Falls, S.D., for 26 years, retiring in 1970.

His wife died Oct. 20,1982.

Survivors include two daughters, Marian Herrmann of Aberdeen, S.D., and Donna Miller of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one step great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; one son; five brothers, Charles, William, Benjamin, Peter and John, and two sisters, Hattie Levering and Cora Mundt.
