Memorial services for Blanche Berkland, 81, of Canton, South Dakota, were held Friday in Canton Lutheran church, Canton, with interment in Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery, rural Inwood.

She died Monday, July 27, 1992, in Edina, Minnesota.

Blanche Twedt was born May 22, 1911, in Forest City.

On August 21, 9133, she married Sam Berkland in Thompson. They farmed in the Inwood area until 1966 when they moved to Canton.

Her husband died August 31, 1968.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Janet) Bensen of Edina and Mrs. Lyle (Muriel) Cooper of Sioux City; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Dean of Austin, Minnesota, and three sisters, Lucille Field of Forest City, Elvina Hicks of Henderson, Nevada, and Arlis Eiesland of Canton.
