Harold "Demps" Langenhorst, 76, of Larchwood died Sunday, April 17, 1994, at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. Services will be held today (Wednesday) at. 2 p.m. at the Church of St. Mary, Larchwood, with interment in Larchwood Cemetery.

Mr. Langenhorst was born March 1, 1918, in Hospers. He grew up near Hospers and attended St. Anthony's Catholic School.

Oh Jan. 27, 1941, he married Barbara Full in Granville and they began farming near Hospers. In 1966, they moved to Larch wood where they owned and operated Demps and Barb's Cafe. They sold the cafe in 1970 and he began working as a painter in the Larchwood area until his retirement in 1980.

He was admitted to McKennan Hospital April 5, 1994, following a stroke.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Carrol of Newton, Kan., David of Larchwood and Alan of Aurora, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Linda) Kotz of Maxwell, Debbie Langenhorst of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Larry (Lori) Summers of Aurora; nine grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Peter (Olivia) Nichel of Granville.
