Anna Johnson, 80, died July 7, 2003, at Luverne Community Hospital.

Services were Thursday at Bethel Reformed Church, rural Ellsworth, Minn., with interment in Pleasant View Cemetery, Little Rock.

Anna Blau was born Dec. 26, 1922, near Little Rock, the daughter of Harley and Janetta (Hinrichs) Blau. She grew up in the Little Rock and Ellsworth area, graduating from Ellsworth High School. She attended teaching school in Le Mars, then taught in area country schools three years.

On Jan. 25, 1946, she married Chris Johnson. They farmed near Ellsworth. She worked as a nurse aide and volunteered at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth.

At Bethel Reformed Church, she was a member of Dorcas Circle and RCWM and taught Sunday School, Bible School and catechism over 30 years.

Survivors include two sons, Harlan of Ellsworth and Melvin of Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs. James (Jeanine) Carpenter of Canton, S.D., and Mrs. Laurence (Sylvia) Schroeder of Vail; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and eight sisters, Hazel Winter, Wilma Klingenberg, Sylvia Harberts, Hattie Ver Maat, Grace Averill, Janet Decker, Priscilla Swenson and Beverly Patterson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two infant sisters.
