Helen Christians, 91, of Ellsworth, Minn., died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Luverne (Minn.) Community Hospital.

Services were Monday at Roste Funeral Home, Rock Rapids, with interment in Pleasant View Cemetery, Little Rock.

Helen Van Briesen was born Sept. 26, 1911, in George, the daughter of George and Anna Van Briesen. She grew up and attended country school in the George area.

On June 26, 1931, she married Kenneth Christians in Sibley. They moved to Kenneth's family farm where they remainded until 1972. In 1999, she became a resident of Parkview Manor Nursing Home, Ellsworth.

Survivors include one granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, one brother, George of Appleton, Minn., and two sisters, Susie Krueger of Sibley and Mrs. Milton (Audrey) Monk of Dell Rapids, S.D.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Henry; one grandson, Gaylord Christians; three brothers and two sisters.
