Keith Viereck, 37, of Larchwood died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at his home.

Funeral mass was Thursday at The Church of St. Mary, Larchwood, with interment in Larchwood Cemetery.

Mr. Viereck was born Sept. 2, 1965, at Sioux Falls, S.D., the son of Rolland Evelyn (Claussen) Viereck. He grew up and lived in Larchwood, graduating from West Lyon High School in 1984.

On Aug. 9, 1985, he married Shari Roemen in Larchwood. He worked as a carpenter for his own company, then later for Woodman Construction. For the past few years, he was employed with Gruis Construction, Baltic, S.D., and developed his own tree farm. For the past year, he had been the 10th grade CCD teacher at The Church of St. Mary.

Survivors include his wife; four children, Adam, Abby, Anthony and Alaina, all of Larchwood; his mother, Evelyn Skiles of Sioux Falls; his father of Larchwood; four sisters, Mrs. Greg (Janice) Koch and Kimberly Sehr, both of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Tony (Lisa) Snyders of Larchwood and Mrs. Brian (Nancy) Van Veldhuizen of Inwood; half-brother, Michael Viereck of Larchwood; two stepsisters, Mrs. Kent (Amy) Snyders and Lori Gulk, both of Larchwood, and one stepbrother, David Gulk of Larchwood.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jason Viereck.
