Ila Mae Breeman, 70, of Rock Rapids died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital, Rock Rapids.

Services were Wednesday at Christian Church (Disciples), Rock Rapids, with interment in Riverview Cemetery.

Ila Mae Bonk was born April 2, 1933, in George, the daughter of Eildert and Martha (Ackerman) Bonk. She grew up in the George and Rock Rapids area and attended school up to the eighth grade.
On Dec. 4, 1949, she married Ike Breeman Jr. in Rock Rapids, where they resided. She worked for her mother at Royal CafÈ in Rock Rapids several years. From 1971 to 1976, the couple owned and operated the cafÈ. They then owned the pool hall three years and Ike's Garbage and Dray seven years.

Her husband died July 23, 1984. She worked for K-Products in Rock Rapids until her retirement in the early 1990s. During her retirement, she worked at Jubilee Foods in Rock Rapids. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include one son, Jim of Yankton, S.D.; four daughters, Marsha Breeman of Rock Rapids and Mrs. Skip (Sharon) Sailer, Sandy Breeman and Mrs. Bill (Barb) Hoffman, all of Sioux Falls, S.D.; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; one brother, Donald of St. Cloud, Fla., and two sisters, Marion Rolling and Fanola "Toots" Bos, both of Rock Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Fredrick.
