Robert De Boer

Robert Lee De Boer, 37, of Colton, S.D., formerly of Rock Rapids, died on Friday, Aug. 1, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., from injuries suffered in an accidental fall.

Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at Canton United Methodist Church in Canton, S.D. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation was held on Tuesday afternoon and evening, Aug. 5, with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, S.D.

Rob was born on Sept. 30, 1970, in Hartley, the son of Edward and Donna (Brinkman) De Boer.
He graduated from Central Lyon School in Rock Rapids in 1990. He graduated from Northwest Iowa Tech in 1991.

He was working at Hofer Farms near Crooks, S.D.
He was an avid bull rider and horse rider. He raised and trained his horse Dakota. He also enjoyed competitive go-cart racing in Sheldon.
He was a member of Canton United Methodist Church, where he sang in the chancel choir, attended adult Sunday School and was a member of the UM Men’s Group.

Grateful for having shared his life are his children Adam and Serena of Sioux City, his mother Donna De Boer of George, brothers Chuck of George and Larry of Orange City, sister Linda Hofmeier of Sioux City, four nephews and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Edward.
