Jennie Denekas, 82, George, died Saturday, Dec.18, at Lyon Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Rock Rapids.

Services were Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Tabernacle Baptist Church in George, with Pastor Bryan
Anderson officiating. Burial was at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George, under the direction of Bolin Funeral Home in George.

Jennie Denekas, daughter of Henry J. and Rena (Van Asperen) Buss, was born March 27, 1928, in George. She lived her youth in the George and Doon area. She married Walter Denekas on July 1, 1946, in Luverne, MN. They lived in Rock Rapids, Forest City, Little Rock, and George and in South Dakota and California .She attended the Tabernacle Baptist Church in George.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda and Delton Patten of George; two sons, Larry Denekas and special friend Margie Hintz of George and Rick and Stacy Denekas of George; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, John and Sharon Buss of Colton, SD, and Terry and Anita Buss of Rock Rapids; and a sister-in-law, Rose Dirks of Belmond. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Denekas; an infant son, Gary Denekas; two infant brothers; and two sisters.
