Died March 14

Lester, Iowa - Chris Kock died at the Rock Rapids hospital Friday, March 14, after a lingering illness.

Mr. Kock was born February 15, 1869 to Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Kock of Davenport, and grew to manhood in Scott county. From there he moved with his folks to Cedar county where he married Bertha Miller February 20, 1895.

To this union three sons were born: Harry of Elkton, S. Dak., Harold of Valley Springs, S. Dak., and Will of Alvord, Iowa.

March 1, 1895 they moved to Lyon county, where he farmed for 24 years. On March 14, 1939, he moved to Lester where he lived until his death.

He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, three sons, eight grandchildren and many other relatives.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wolfram Wednesday, March 19,at 1:45 at the home and 2 o'clock at the Lutheran church. Burial was made at Riverview cemetery in Rock Rapids, with Lockwood's in charge.

Pallbearers were his six nephews: Harley Kock, Walter Brown, Vernon Kock, Ralph Prahl, Clarence Schroeder, Harvey Schroeder.
