Peter Hendricks

Peter Hendricks, who had been ailing for some time, died at his home in town on Wednesday, January 10th, 1917, death being due to old age. The deceased was born in Bunderhee, Ostfriesland, Germany, in April, 1836, and was 80 years, nine months and several days old at the time of his demise.

He came to America in 1865, and later moved to this community, living for several years at Ashton, Ia., and later moved to George, where he and his ever faithful daughter lived together for the past several years, his wife having preceded him to the Great Beyond about five years ago. He was a member of the Presbyterian church and a devoted follower of Christ.

Funeral services were held last Saturday aftemoon, Rev. Boell, assisted by Rev. Meyeroff, officiating, and the remains were laid to rest at Ashton Ia. The deceased leaves to mourn his loss seven sons and daughters, besides many other relatives and friends, who have our sympathy.
