Jane Barron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Barron, was born in Illinois in 1861 and moved with her parents to Benton county, Iowa, when seven years of age. On Jan. 2, 1884, she was united in marriage with Patrick Kelly and a year later they came to Lyon county. They settled on a farm near Alvord, where they lived until 1919, when they retired from the farm and moved to their home on West Main street, Rock Rapids.

She is also survived by Mrs. Julia Allen and Mrs. James Scallen, of Des Moines, sisters; William and Chris Barron, of Cedar Rapids, brothers; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Kelly had not been well for a number of years but her condition was not considered serious until a few weeks before her death. Then a complication of diseases set in, which she was unable to withstand and she passed away Wednesday, August 8, 1928.
