Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, November 26, at St John’s Lutheran church north of Boyden, Iowa, for Mrs. Peter Kruse. Rev. William Striepe was the officiating pastor.

Anna Maria (Schumacker) Kruse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D.H. Schumacker, was born January 8, 1882, in Sheridan Township, Sioux County, Iowa.

She was baptized February 13, 1882 by Pastor B. Mars, at St. John’s Lutheran church. She received her religious instruction by Rev. William Baetke, and was confirmed on March 29, 1896. Prior to her marriage, she was organist of the St. John Lutheran church.

On May 1, 1901, she was united in marriage to Peter Kruse of Boyden, Iowa, and settled on the farm which they occupied until spring of 1947, when they retired to the present site on the same farm.

She was a life-long member of the St. John Lutheran church of Boyden and an active member of the Ladies Aid Society. In 1941, her health began to fail and in December 1949, she suffered a paralytic stroke, which left her invalid, her condition became worse in November 8, 1951, after two weeks of serious illness she peacefully slept away, attaining the age of 68 years, 10 months and 13 days.

She leaves to mourn her death, her bereaved husband, seven sons and four daughters: William of Tyler, Minnesota; Walter and Albert of George, Iowa; Henry of Sheldon, Iowa; Fritz of Chandler, Minnesota; Arnold of Adrian, Minnesota; Rudolph of Boyden, Iowa; Mrs. Claus (Minnie) Woelber of George, Iowa; Mrs. Klaus (Mary) Holander, Emma, Mrs. Edward (Elsie) Hausmann all of Boyden, Iowa; 36 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Johanna and Alvina Schumacker of Chokio, Minnesota.
