Mrs. Eyo Tuin, 76, a resident of this community since 1906 passed away at her home on Sunday, June 3, 1951. Mrs. Tuin was one of the peace loving citizens of George, Iowa, for many years. She suffered a paralytic stroke on Tuesday of the last week and although everything humanly possible was done for her, she did not recover.

Funeral services were held from the Tuin home and from the Tabernacle Baptist church on Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Harm Johnson officiating. Interment was made in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery of George. Following is the obituary of Mrs. Tuin, who will be missed by her many friends in this community.

Hilke Beer was born in Midwolda Prov., Groningen, Holland, on February 20, 1875, there she lived with her parents until April 1898 when she was united in marriage to Eyo Tuin. This union was blessed with 6 children of which 3 passed away in infancy. In April of the year 1906, they immigrated to America settling near George, Iowa, later moving to the west side of town, where they resided for many years.

On Tuesday, May 29, 1951, she suffered a paralytic stroke and was confined to bed till Sunday morning at about 4:30 a.m.. The Lord called His weary pilgrim home, having reached the age of 76 years, 3 months and 13 days. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be greatly missed by her grief stricken husband and the three remaining children: George and Ada of George, Iowa and Gertrude of Wausau, Wisconsin; also one sister-in-law, Mrs. Lambert Modder Sr., a number of nieces and nephews, many more distant relatives in Holland, as well as a large number of friends. May the God of all comfort, comfort the sorrowing.
